What are Stacks?

RapidWeaver offers an extensible plugin solution out of the box. This lead to the development of many useful plugins like PlusKit or Blocks that almost feel like being standard RapidWeaver functionality.

Nevertheless, writing a RapidWeaver plugin requires some considerable knowhow when it comes to native Mac development, in other words hardcore Objective-C and Cocoa.

As a casual web developer this is typically none of your business and it was a major improvement when Yourhead Software released their Stacks plugin, which basically complements RapidWeavers template mechanism with an easy to use webclip component. After using Stacks for the first time you typically don't want to miss it anymore.

Even though Stacks is a great layout engine on top of RapidWeaver template engine, there is another great feature that makes Stacks even better: based on an API you can write your own customizable Stacks which easily allow you to integrate your own components, like RSS feeds, slideshows, and all kinds of fancy web tricks to your web site.
